When it comes to getting fit, I’ve got good news for you.

And some bad news.

Good news: You already know what you’re supposed to do.
Bad news: You’re not doing it, are you?

Here’s the big bad secret of the $94 BILLION fitness industry:

There. Are. No. Secrets.

Do you want to lose weight?

  • Eat a balanced diet
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Exercise 3-5 times a week

Do you want to get stronger?

  • Lift heavy stuff 3-5 times a week
  • Eat enough protein to fuel your muscles.

Where we get tripped up is the daily habits of how to do that stuff on a regular basis.

We’d all be ripped like Captain America if we actually did what we know we’re supposed to do.

Stop buying fitness magazines and jumping from fad to fad.

Stop Googling stuff like “how to get a six-pack in 6 days”.

Stop following 20-something fitness influencers on Instagram whose metabolisms haven’t caught up with them yet. (Especially if they don’t have kids.)

Start simple and build up from there.

Do what you know you’re supposed to do today.
Do it again tomorrow.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

And neither will your new dad bod. ;)

READ: Eating right is my biggest hurdle. I’ve got the workout stuff down pat, but I’m used to eating a “see food” diet. I see it, I want it, I eat it.

Intermittent fasting has changed my relationship with food and is mostly responsible for how I lost (and kept off) 20 lbs.

Check out this beginner’s guide from The Art of Manliness.

WATCH: Your back probably isn’t bulletproof.

Whether you’ve started working from home during the shutdown or normally sit at a desk all day, you know that your posture is at risk.

Bad posture leads to bad back problems which leads to your kids putting you in a nursing home before you’re ready.

Check out this perfect daily posture routine to undo all that sitting.

LISTEN: Looking out the window of a space shuttle and seeing the curve of Earth’s horizon gives you a new perspective.

One we could all afford to contemplate.

GEAR: Protein powders have come a long way in 20 years, but some of them still get clumpy.

The key to a smooth protein shake (without the mess and clean up of a blender) is a good shaker bottle. I’ve tried at least a dozen and nothing beats Blender Bottle.

Plus they just released a line of Marvel-themed shakers!
(I got the Thor one. ⚡️🔨 )

DAD: How do you get a squirrel to like you?
KID: I don’t know.
DAD: Act like an acorn.
